Suze Dalencour, Founder

I come to this work as a trauma survivor, or as we like to say, a wounded healer. I know what it feels like to feel stuck in the past or disconnected from my body, so I am sensitive to and inspired to helping people heal from trauma. I believe in providing a safe and supportive environment where we develop a therapeutic relationship free of judgement, as we explore the thoughts and emotions that are holding you back from your full potential.  As a licensed therapist holding an MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University, I embrace a strengths-based, person-centered, and culturally sensitive approach, with a profound passion for individuals who have experienced trauma.

I am dedicated to bringing good therapy to marginalized communities, particularly Black and Brown folks. I work in modalities beyond talk therapy such as IFS, EMDR, yoga, and mindfulness to promote healing for individuals, play therapy for children and teens, and a systems approach for couples and families, including the Gottman Method for couples therapy. If you struggle with anxiety, depression, work pressures, or complex trauma, there is hope, and healing is possible.

Therapy should be accessible. We offer payment options, from private pay to insurance to a sliding scale to meet your financial needs. I bring compassion, care, attentiveness, and support to our therapeutic relationship.  We’ll start with open and fruitful conversations about where you are in your healing journey, and the steps you’d like to take to move toward balance and wholeness, with you in control of your process. If this resonates with you, then we can work collaboratively toward meeting your goals. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your path to healing.
